Rules Reduction Taskforce coming to Rotorua and Te Puke
Rotorua and Te Puke MP Todd McClay will host Rules Reduction Taskforce community meetings in Rotorua and Te Puke. The Taskforce was assembled last year to get local people’s input on how to reduce red tape and needless bureaucracy in the property and housing sector. The Te Puke meeting will be held at 11am on May 13th in the Pioneer Lounge, Main Road Te Puke and the Rotorua meeting on May 13th at 5:30pm in the Rimu Room at the Distinction Hotel. Local people are being encouraged to come along and share their experience of property rules and regulations that they consider to be irrelevant or unnecessary.
“Meetings like these are being held all over the country, and are a great chance for people in Rotorua to have their say, in order to help us address rules that frustrate and hinder property owners” says Mr McClay.
“The Rules Reduction task force was created last year and will work closely with local government, trades, and members of the public to ensure the processes around owning a property are as simple and effective as possible.
“Concerns raised at these meetings are being collated on behalf of the Rules Reduction Taskforce. Once the Taskforce has considered all the submissions, it will then make recommendations to the Government.
“I encourage people in Te Puke and Rotorua to come to these meetings and make sure their voice is heard on rules and regulations that frustrate them” says Mr McClay.
